Scientific clinical center of eyes diseases of Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan

 

 

The scientifically-clinical center of eye diseases, it is clinic of new generation where conducted various methods of diagnostics and treatment of eye diseases of that part of the population which needs special social protection - to children and citizens with the limited possibilities, and also to participants of war and rear of 1941-1945, widows and soldiers-Afghans.

The scientifically-clinical center of eye diseases consists of 6 departments: treatment of eye diseases at children (25 places), departments of the general diseases of eyes (20 places), the emergency aid, laser, out-patient department and clinical laboratory.

As part of out-patient department work 2 offices of children sight care with the modern equipment: phoropter, autorefractometer, pneumotonometer, slot-hole lamp, synoptophore, ambliocor, accomodotrainer. First in Turkmenistan is established the newest retinal pediatric system "RetCam" intended for diagnostics at early stage, dynamic supervision and control of treatment of heavy pathology of the newborns often leading to loss of sight – retinopathy of misborn children. In the Scientifically-clinical center of eye  diseases the diagnostic office equipped with new ultrasonic device "AVISO" (France) also functions; “HRT-3” (Germany);“ Spectralis OCT HRA ”(Germany), is available office of physiotherapy with the modern equipment. Successful carrying out of all kinds of operations at children under the general anesthesia is provided with device" DRAGGER "(Germany). All this new equipment gives ample opportunities for working out and introduction of scientifically well-founded methods of diagnostics and treatment of eye diseases.

In center activity the ponderable  place is paid attention to problem of protection of sight at children which successful decision provides complex of the preventive actions spent by ophthalmologists together with staff of the eye diseases department with support of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. It, in turn, gives ample opportunities for regular carrying out of seminars with tutors of training groups and teachers of initial classes of Ashgabat for the purpose of introduction in preschool centers and high schools of the developed preventive and methodical programs, and also realization of screening and monitoring of eye iseases without separation from study and educational process. Purposeful activity of staffs of the center provides early revealing of group of risk of children predisposed to development of anomalies of refraction and other eye diseases, and also their timely treatment and prevention of complications.

 

 

In research work the special attention is given to preventive maintenance, diagnostics and treatment of high short-sightedness, heterotropy (squint), congenital cataract and  glaucoma, new growths, inflammatory and dystrophic diseases and other pathologies of  organ of sight at children with use of scientifically well-founded newest medical technologies. It is conducted scientific workings out on introduction of new technologies at surgical treatment of congenital glaucoma and squint. In the cooperation with the Russian ophthalmologists new ways of surgical treatment of paralytic and converging squint (Patents for the invention №2483699 are developed; №2584077).

Highly skilled experts of the centers together with teachers of the eye diseases department are conducted medical-advisory, methodological and research works where experience of foreign colleagues is widely made use. For the purpose of the further development of an ophthalmologic science and perfection of level of knowledge and professional skills of young experts all possibilities for joint cooperation with the international centers of science are used. Within the limits of the bilateral agreement signed in March, 2019 about cooperation between Scientifically-clinical the center of eye diseases of the Myrat Garryyev State Medical University of Turkmenistan and Federal state budgetary institution «Helmholth national medical research center for eye diseases» of the Ministry of health of the Russian Federation, realizes programs on improvement professional  postgraduate formations of young Turkmen ophthalmologists and to their participation in ­the international scientifically-practical conferences and forums.
