UNESCO CLUB


During the era of Revival of a new era of Powerful state on the basis of the successful national policy carried out by our Hero Leader, extensive study of the historical and cultural values of our people, development of international cooperation in the field of science and education, and implementation of large-scale activities related to the activation of relations with international organizations, first of all, the United Nations Educational, scientific and cultural organization –UNESCO is passed.

On December 9, 2023, the opening ceremony of the UNESCO Club “Medicinal Plants - our health, our heritage” was held on the foundation of Myrat Garryyev State Medical university of Turkmenistan.

The opening ceremony of the club was attended by the responsible secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan on the affairs of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural organization (UNESCO), Hero of the Turkmenistan Chinar Rustemova, numerous guests and professors and students of the Medical University.

On the occasion of the opening solemn of the UNESCO Club “Our medicinal plants – our health, our heritage”, an exhibition of the books of the National Leader of Turkmen people, Our Hero-Arkadag, as well as medicinal plants and applied arts of our country was organized in the hall of the higher educational institution.  During the opening ceremony, theatrical performances prepared by students of the “Melhem” musical group were demonstrated. Then the event continued with the conference. The conference participants in their speeches emphasized the great merits of Hero-Arkadag and the Esteemed President in studying the rich of  national cultural heritage, a storehouse of medicinal plants that heal the health of the people of our country. The importance of forming a healthy young generation with high spirit and its historical significance in the future was also noted. The conference focused on the worthy role of the university’s UNESCO Club in intensifying its cooperation in the educational field with the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, with the Secretariat National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. According to the agreement concluded between Myrat Garryyev State Medical university of Turkmenistan and UNESCO, noting the established tasks for the structural units and functions of the club, its work plan includes the organization of working trips to foreign countries, publication of scientific articles in prestigious publishing houses abroad, publication of educational and methodological aids, books and monographs.

Meeting "International Intangible Cultural Heritage – at UNESCO"

 

   On October 17, 2024, with the organization of the UNESCO club "Medicinal Plants – our health, our heritage", at the Myrat Garryyev State Medical University of Turkmenistan, on the occasion of the International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage, widely celebrated according to the calendar of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), a round table meeting "International Intangible Cultural Heritage – at UNESCO". The participants of the meeting expressed their sincere gratitude to our Hero Arkadag, Arkadagly Hero Serdar for the wide opportunities created for them in the study, use and preservation of our national cultural values, literary heritage and traditions included in the list of intangible cultural heritage of mankind "Turkmenistan-UNESCO".

 

 

On October 21-22, 2024, a delegation consisting of the heads of the Secretariat of the National Committee of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, heads of UNESCO Clubs and Chairs of Turkmenistan visited Minsk to study the experience of the leading Association of UNESCO Clubs and UNESCO Chairs of the Republic of Belarus. During the visit, the delegation got acquainted with the work of the Association of UNESCO Clubs of the Republic of Belarus, created in 1989, the UNESCO Club opened in the 161st secondary school of Minsk, as well as the UNESCO Chair of the Minsk State Linguistic University, showing great interest in the development of international cooperation, holding forums and organizing various projects.


 

Online conference "New approaches to improving environmental education of students in higher education institutions"

 

 

On November 22, 2024, members of the UNESCO Club "Medicinal Plants – our health, our heritage" of the Myrat Garryyev State Medical University of Turkmenistan took part and spoke at the online conference "New approaches to improving environmental education of students in higher educational institutions", held by The Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute.

 

 

 

 

Online conference "Tebigatymyzy bilelikde goralyň!"

 

On April 19, 2025, as part of the declared "International Year of Peace and Trust", members of the UNESCO Club "Medicinal plants – our health, our heritage" of the Myrat Garryyev State Medical University of Turkmenistan took part in the online conference "Tebigatymyzy bilelikde goralyň!". The event was organized by the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, as well as the country's UNESCO Chairs, clubs, and associated schools.

On May 31, 2025, the UNESCO Club "Akhal-Teke Horses are Ambassadors of Peace" of the  International Horse Breeding Academy named after Aba Annaev, together with the UNESCO departments and clubs of all higher educational institutions of our country, held an online conference dedicated to the International Children's Day. Members of the UNESCO Club "Medicinal Plants – Our Health, Our Heritage" of the Myrat Garryyev State Medical University of Turkmenistan took part in it and made presentations.
