The Department of Social Science was founded in 1932. Currently, the department teaches in the following subjects: “History of Turkmenistan”, “Philosophy”, “Political Science”, “Economic Theory”, “Modern Turkmen Society”. The department has 3 lecture-rooms, as well as a hall for scientific and practical conferences, classrooms are equipped with modern computer technology.

 

The research activity of the department consists of studying different stages of the history of philosophical and socio-political opinions of the peoples of Central Asia; philosophical problems of natural sciences; development of interethnic relations, international and moral education; history of medicine and health care.

 

4 doctoral and master’s theses were protection in the department. More than 400 works of the teaching staff have been published, including 44 monographs. The results of scientific works are published in collections of scientific and practical conferences, in scientific journals of the country and abroad.

 

In order to conduct educational work, meetings are organized with students on issues of the socio-political life of our country. The department has scientific circles “My Fatherland”, “Young Philosopher”, “Young Traveler” and “Social Protection of the Population”. Conducting a survey on emerging issues that relate to young people is one form of work.
