The Department of Military Field Surgery was founded in 2012. 

The first head of the department was D. Gurbandurdyev (2012-2014). In subsequent years, the department was headed by A. Akyev (2014-2015), S. Mammetyazov (2016-2017), A. Osmanov (2017-2018). From 2018 to the present, the duties of the head of the department are performed by G. Sayypov.

          

The educational base of the department is the central military hospital of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan. The department conducts classes on surgical diseases and extreme medicine with students of medical, pediatric, preventive medicine, dental, military medical faculties, the faculty of sports medicine.

          

The staff of the department prepared textbooks on military field surgery, extreme medicine, 14 teaching aids on military field surgery in Turkmen and English.

          

Curricula have been developed for all faculties.

          

The classrooms are equipped with the necessary teaching aids. Practical and lecture classes are conducted using the interactive teaching method.

          

The medical and diagnostic work of the department is carried out on the above clinical basis, includes clinical analyzes of patients, case management, and the provision of practical medical care in the field. Medical facilities are equipped with modern medical equipment, which helps students to improve their knowledge in the diagnosis of diseases.

          

According to the curriculum, students of the military medical faculty undergo summer practice in medical centers of military units. There they acquire practical skills in providing medical assistance to military personnel. This will be of great benefit to them in their future professional practice.
