Academic Department of the Medical University controls the fulfillment of the orders, resolutions, directions, and instructions of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Health and medical Industry of Turkmenistan, University Administration and Academic Council of the University on the organization of the study and education work.

It also prepares documents for the deans and heads of the departments for the registration and accountability on the academic work. It controls the design and storage of the students’ documents accepted by the dean’s office. The department develops annual curricula in specialties approved at the University, winter and summer sessions timetable. It prepares the order on the examination session, State Examination Commission and examiners.

It checks departments’ readiness for the session and state examinations, controls a timely preparation of the reports on the results of the examination session and state examinations and develops a final report.

It supervises the development of the teaching and methodological manuals, textbooks and methodological instructions of the departments, an acquisition the library und and controls the availability of the textbooks in the library and reading hall.

It participates in preparing reports on the academic and educational work for the academic year.

It supervises keeping of the registration and record documents at the departments of the University. It prepares different information by the order of the Rector and Vice-Rector on the academic work. It organizes and controls a practical training of all faculties of the University. It analyses the preparation of the documents on the practical training (contracts, etc.) as well as development of consultative programmes of teaching for the heads of the bases in the medical institutions.

It determines where the students will undergo their practical training. The head of the department controls the work of the teachers (assistants) and analyses their reports. It admits report documents on the results of the training particle.
