The department was founded in 1969. Currently, its educational bases are the Educational and Scientific Center for Maternal and Child Health Protection of the Myrat Garryyev State Medical University of Turkmenistan, the Medical and Consultative Center of Turkmenistan named after S. Niyazov, the Emergency Ambulance Center, the Hospital with the Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology.

 

At the department, students of all faculties undergo training sessions and phantom exercises in “Anesthesiology and resuscitation”, “Intensive therapy in emergency conditions”, “Emergency care at the prehospital stage” and “Clinical physiology”. Professional training of doctors is carried out in the direction of “Anesthesiology and resuscitation”. The department conducts classes to improve personnel in the direction of “Anesthesiology and resuscitation”. The department includes postgraduate educational and clinical residency and postgraduate studies.

 

The staff of the department has prepared a textbook “Anesthesiology and Reanimatology” and more than 100 methodological manuals. Practical and theoretical lessons are conducted using interactive, audio and video, phantom simulation techniques.

 

Research work is underway in key areas of anesthesiology and resuscitation, as well as intensive care: “Study of the features of artificial respiration in traumatic brain injury and neoplasms”; “Evaluation of parenteral nutrition in postoperative elderly patients”; “Teaching school-age children the basics of pulmonary cardiac resuscitation” and others. Abstracts of more than 150 scientific works have been published, more than 200 scientific articles have been published. In student circles, research work is carried out with students.

 

The work of the department in intensive care, anesthesiology and resuscitation includes the diagnosis and management of difficult patients, the provision of practical medical assistance to doctors. The bases of the department are equipped with modern medical equipment, which makes it possible to improve the level of education in the field of first aid to students, in the diagnosis of the cause of pain.
