The Military Medical Faculty of the Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan was opened on July 6, 2012 by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan. 

 

At the same time, the department of military field therapy was created as part of the Military Medical Faculty. The department was headed by O. Begalieva (2012-2015), R. Gordiev (2015-2016).

          

The main training bases of the Department of Military Therapy are located on the territory of the Central Military Hospital, the Central Military Clinic of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan, the Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan.

          

The department conducts practical and lectures on general patient care, introduction to the military medical profession, the basics of organizing medical care in the troops, modern military medicine, a military clinic, military medical examination, occupational diseases of military personnel, military field therapy with students of medical , pediatric, medical and preventive, dental, pharmaceutical, military medical faculties, sports medicine faculty. Postgraduate training and advanced training of military doctors is carried out in military field therapy. Postgraduate training includes clinical residency, postgraduate and doctoral studies.

          

Training sessions with students of the military medical faculty are conducted on the basis of the Regulations developed in accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan "On military duty and military service".

          

 The staff of the department prepared textbooks on military field therapy, 87 teaching aids on military field therapy. There are also interactive lectures and teleconferences in multimedia format.Research work at the department is carried out in various circles in the main areas of military medicine. The department has published 14 theses and 5 articles.

          

Treatment and counseling of patients is carried out in the above clinical and training centers. The main content of the training course is a step-by-step study of methods of treating patients and victims in the field of emergency therapeutic care for various diseases in the field, the volume and types of medical care at stages.

          

It includes the analysis of diagnostics of patients with complex diseases, management of patients in various departments of these hospitals, conducting classes in new conditions, which largely contributes to an increase in the level of education of students.
